the internal and subjective component of sense perceptions, arising from stimulation of the senses by phenomena.

TAQ Dance, directed by Sasha Marlan-Librett, makes dance-theater works that explore existential questions and non-answers about the human experience. Moving between text and movement, improvisation and choreography, the work revels in the absurdity and messiness of daily interactions, desires, and fears. Through theatrical setups, TAQ collaborators develop flawed yet lovable characters who navigate ambiguous relationships, toggling between façade and honesty. Exploring memory, fear, love, and free will, we hold up a mirror to the effort, humor, and turmoil of living.

TAQ Dance invites all audiences to connect with our narratives, and with their own.

We bring existential thought into dance, bridging the perceived gap between mind and body and between dance and non-dance audiences, fostering understanding and reflection on the human experience.
